Michelle Lynskey - Slap Bass & Vocals
A talented and powerful slap bassist, Michelle is also a classically trained vocalist and dancer. She has performed such roles on the stage as Jenny Lind in Barnum, Louise in Gypsy and Fiona in Brigadoon. She has also been a featured vocalist for film and television, working with such composers as Anton Sanko, Harry Greggson-Williams & David Buckley. However, it was her passion as a slap bassist that allowed her to find a way to combine her musicality with the rhythm and percussion of her championship dancing, all into one art form, thereby creating her own unique and exuberant expression on the big fiddle.
John Marshall - Bass, Fiddle & Vocals
One of the most recognized and lauded slap bassists in Bluegrass, John trained classically as a violinist at the Occidental College of Music in Los Angeles. Inspired by the playing of Craig Bluemel, John's passion for bass has led him to be a pioneer in the art of slap-bassing, combining rhythm and melody like no other in his field. He was recently nominated for his performance in the Johnny Cash tribute show, The Ring of Fire, where he wowed audiences with his solo bass rendition of Cash's most well-loved tunes.
Evan Marshall - Mandolin, Fiddle & Vocals
Evan Marshall is an internationally renowned mandolin virtuoso, and is generally regarded as the world's premiere solo performer in the
Duo-Style. Country guitar legend, Chet Atkins, called him "one of the few great musicians of our time." Inspired by Atkins and Jascha Heifetz, Evan has been a featured guest in Pops Symphony concerts across the country, including Houston, Phoenix, Long Beach, Grand Rapids and San Antonio to name a few. In 1995, Evan made his first appearance on A Prairie Home Companion, where he performed his signature piece, The William Tell Overture.
Deborah Kollgaard - Cello, Fiddle & Vocals
Deborah Kollgaard is one of the most accomplished and sought after cellists in Southern California. Currently a member of the Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, she has also performed with such groups as the Pacific Symphony, the Los Angeles Music Center Ballet Orchestra, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, and the New Mexico Symphony. Deborah can also be heard on numerous television and movie soundtracks, and has performed as part of the Motion Picture Academy Awards.
Alex Finazzo - Guitar
Alex Finazzo is a high energy flatpicker inspiried by the works of Doc Watson, Tony Rice, and Dan Crary. His style makes no apologies for his Bluegrass roots, yet it’s evolved into a eclectic blend of influences, rich with heartfelt melodies, impressive technique and a dash of dry wit. Alex has taken the stage at some of the region’s largest bluegrass festivals and street fairs, as well as on national radio and local television. With his infectious passion for acoustic music, Alexi is a crowd-pleasing guitarist that consistently impresses audiences with is dynamic and virtuosic style.
